Here is a little peek at one of the shelves in the Red Velvet studio. Sometimes we call it the factory too. I thought I would share a few lovely books that other amazing artists and authors have made that inspire us.
Babel: Jim Houser. This lovely book came out quite some time ago, but Jim Houser's work continues to inspires us.
If you haven't heard of Banksy
yet, where have you been love? I suppose I should say, for legal reasons, that Red Velvet does not endorse graffiti, but Banksy's artistic endeavors (and sheer guts) are impressive.
The Tree Show by: Mark Ryden
is beautiful, startling and inspiring. His other-worldly illustrations are one of a kind.
Craft, Inc.
is a great resource for any gal (or gentleman:) who wants to explore the business side of their crafting obsessions.
I was so amazed when Handmade Nation
first came out. It is so exciting to read and see the stories of talent artists and DIY creators across the U.S.
There are more books on our shelves, but this is just a little peek. It's fun to see the back stage area sometimes;)

p.s. the first image is from our studio, the rest were found via amazon and google image searches.
so many lovely books, I have many of the same as well. I never get tired of looking at them.
I don't even consider Banksy to be graffiti, more of a social statement on the art world I think. But I guess because how he executes his work, it sort of is. Excited for more studio peeks. xo
