Question: If you were to cook a romantic meal for your boyfriend, what would you make?

Question: what kind of camera do you use? AND whats your favorite cookbook?!

hmmmm, three spices, a book and one album on a shipwrecked island, okay, go!

Also, try mixing your pancake mix with unsweetened applesauce, so yummy.

What's your skin routine? Your skin always looks flawless! Any other beauty tips?

Could you pretty please make a video sometime? I would absolutely love to see the Red Velvet Sweet Shoppe in a vid, maybe you giving a tour- as well as you making or baking something?! That'd be fun. PLEEEASE??? :D

Do you have a good recipe for homemade hot chocolate? It's cold here. :)

Is there any food you crave since moving from Los Angeles?

top 3 favorite albums!
and
what creative projects outside of the bakery are you working on right now?

Who's your favorite celebrity chef?

What is your idea of the perfect day?

You seem so happy with your siblings! Have you always gotten along?

I miss your book reviews! What draws you to certain kinds of books?

What do you want to be when you grow up? :) (I'm pretty sure i'm a little older than you, and I'm still up in the air...of course I didn't also just open a shop :| )

I'd love to know your fave cook book also :)

Do you ever test out new recipes on people or do you always try them at home yourself first?

What's your top 10 favorite cookbooks/websites for cooking?

Baking vs cooking which do you prefer?

Ok, I'll stop now. I'm pretty sure you didn't want to get berated with questions.

What would be your favorite biscuits from scratch recipe?
And do you have a vegan one?

I have to say I have made the "Dutchoven bread" several times and its divine!

I actually have a cooking question. I recently bought a box of falafel mix and was wondering if you could share how you prepare it, and what side dishes, condiments, etc you serve with yours.

Thanks!

I'm so happy about the Q&A! Can't wait to discover lots of interesting things about Emma. :)
So, my questions (maybe you should take a deep breath; there are plenty of them):
I'd love to know what you did after you graduated from high school? Where and what did you study? And what are you studying now? (in this post of Elsie's: http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/10/and-thats-what-dreams-are-made-of-.html she mentioned you are prepping for a grad. school program and I'd love to know more about what exactly you study and where, if you don't mind sharing).
Another question - what jobs have you had as a teenager and also later in life?
Is there a special dream you are dreaming of?
What do you love most about being the owner of the sweet shoppe, and which parts of it you find challenging?
How did you make the decision to move back to Missouri and open the cupcake shop? I guess it was such a huge decision, so was it easy to make it or not so much...?

I really, really hope you don't mind me asking all these questions... I have a quite-big decision to make myself about my own studies, so I'd love to hear everything you have to say that might inspire me... :)
Thank you so much for your blog. It's so funny - I'm so not into cooking (although I'd love to get that bug someday :)) but I still check your blog often for all the non-cooking-related posts... I *love* your writing style (it's so unique and fun, you have no idea) and I really enjoy the little peeks into your life you are sharing with us. :)

oops, oops, oops! I had no idea my comment ^ will come out so long... :-O sorry!

Hi Emma!

Are you still acting?
In LA you were trying to buy local and in season, are you doing that at home still?
Also, what do your typical meals throughout the day look like?

hm.. let's see..

Do you plan your meals? Like, do you list out what you wanna make for the week or do you just improv?

How long have you been vegan? Do you find it tricky to cook for yourself with a vegan lifestyle? (I'm a new vegetarian and I'm having dinner idea problems!)

Where do you get your recipe inspiration from?

:)
Im really looking foward to reading your answers. There are some good questions up there!

-B

ooh wait, another question...

What are your pantry staples? What would you recommend keeping stocked in the pantry?

Since you work in a shop where you make basically the same thing every day - do you get bored with that?

How is owning Red Velvet better than just working at a bakery/sweet shoppe? ( I know it obviously is better! cuz hellooo its red velvet haha, but I'd love to hear what makes your job special to you!)

Emma, I adore your blog! The only problem I have is that sometimes I read a recipe for something amazing and I forget to bookmark the post, so when I come back trying to look for the recipe I have to search a while in your archives to find it. Could you please add a tag cloud or a search bar to your sidebar please? :) Also, I would love to know what your favorite cupcake flavor is, and what is your favorite craft?

Hi Emma, I love your humor and wit. For me, that's what sets apart your blog from all other food blogs that I read. So, my question(s): what's the history of your love affair with bubble tea? Is it hard to source the boba balls? what is the most difficult aspect of running your business? Thanks!

Firstly, I want to say that I truley admire you and your sister. Now onto the question. Did you go to school to become a baker? I wish to follow your foot steps. (cuz I think your pretty rad:)

Hi Emma! I adore your blog. You are super sweet and a whiz in the kitchen! Love it. A couple of questions for you:
What are your long-term goals for your career? I know you have catering services and your bakery but what else are you dreaming about?
Did you love the Midwest even more when you moved back from LA? Was it a hard decision or a no-brainer?
On the business side, your blog and photos are beautiful, but I am sure you work your behind off behind all that eye candy. What is your estimate of how many hours you work per week owning your own business?
Thanks, Emma!

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
What is your favorite type of cupcake?
What did you want to be when you were little?
