Meet and Greet: Traci of Late to the Revolution

Say hello to Traci.

She looks like a fun girl, right? And indeed she is! Traci is the heart and soul behind Late to the Revolution. She describes her shop and style as "Rainbow Spectrum-ed, Dino Inspired, Vegan Coconut Bliss Ice Cream Sundae-d, Ranting Feminist that tries to bring a little sunshine to the REVOLUTION and a little REVOLUTION to the tasks of the everyday!"

Yeah, she's intimidatingly cool.

Here are a few of the super cute items she has created for Red Velvet this season:

Teddy Bear Headphones in Charcoal Grey. These cute headphones also come in Honey and Mocha flavors (and by flavors, I mean colors. stay with me now).

She has also created some adorable vegan vixen beanies!

Traci loves road trips and vegan oreo cookie cookies. That's right-cookies made out of other cookies. This is a lady after my own heart:)

Meet and Greet: Corey Marie of Paper Cuts

Say hello to Corie Marie.

As you can see Corey Marie is a super talented illustrator. She also makes a variety of hand-made things from recycled and re-purposed materials and she really enjoys taking something intended for the trash and turning it into something new and beautiful. Corey Marie loves the eco-friendly nature of what she does, and a lot of her inspiration comes from the re-purposed items themselves.

Meet and Greet: Caitlin of Nifty Kid Stuff

Say hello to Caitlin.

Caitlin is the genius behind Nifty Kid Stuff. She loves ice cream and anything colorful, vintage or that has the cuteness factor:)

Speaking of cuteness factor, take a look at her studio.

Oh-so-adorable. Once you see how sweet her working space is it's easy to understand how everything she makes comes out so so cute! For Red Velvet this season Caitlin has created play time sewing machines for kids! Here is my favorite:

Meet and Greet: Laura of Violet Bella

Say hello to Laura .

She's a true beauty, huh?

Laura is the artist behind Violet Bella. Her style is a combination of vintage inspired pieces with a modern twist, eclectic boho naturalist, with hints of cuteness and woodland.  She loves vintage fabrics, patina birds, skeleton keys, patchwork, things of nature and one of a kind unique style.

She has used her mad skills to create some exclusive jewelry designs for RVA!

And my personal favorite;)

Meet and Greet: Jill of Lune Vintage

Say hello to Jill. Jill is the mastermind (yes, mastermind) behind Lune Vintage.

Lune Vintage is based in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, but they are mobile. It's a gypsy thing.

Isn't their mobile shop the cutest thing EVER!!! It is absolutely awe-inspiring.

Jill has created some unique and amazing items for Red Velvet this season-including pretty fringe necklaces, adorable legwarmers and (my favorite!) exclusive design bandeau's.

On her design process for this item: "The Mid-Century fern print we created for RVA was adapted from one of my favorite pieces of 1950's bar ware. The source material was a small glass carafe adorned with many beautiful fern designs. I'm very happy with how it transitioned into a screen print for our bandeau's."

So talented. Welcome Jill!

Meet and Greet: Drew of Kitsch Cafe

I thought we could take a little time this week to meet all of this seasons Red Velvet consignment artists! They are all so amazing and have been hard at work making some truly beautiful items.

Say hello to Drew Steinbrecher.

Drew is the creator of Kitsch Cafe and Kitsch Wear. His style is a timeless balance of current design trends and vintage/kitsch.

Kitsch Cafe is based in the very underrated and often misunderstood city of Cincinnati. :) Just look at his studio-so drool worthy!

Drew has made, exclusively for Red Velvet this season, beautiful vintage journals, pot holders, checkbook covers and (my favorite!) vintage paper packs:

Hey Chicago kids,

I hear your city is really cool. It's in lots of cool movies.

They've never made a movie set in my city before-so I'm a little jealous.

And I hear you are hosting Renegade this weekend. So that's cool.

Recipe Testing

As you probably already know, the *New* Red Velvet Shop is not only going to be home to beautiful one-of-a-kind vintage and crafty handmade goods, we are also going to have cupcakes and bubble tea available to our local customers (and by local, I mean anyone who visits the store of course!). So this weekend, while we had all the Red Velvet girls together, we did some recipe tasting and testing.

Chandelier Love

As we have been remodeling our new store I have had the opportunity to start to think about/notice how other stores do their designs and what makes them so special to shop in. There are so many fun little details that go into a store front! Specifically I have fallen in love with chandeliers!

Model Profile: Kim Henry

Meet Kim.

She is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet! She has been a long time friend of Red Velvet. She currently works at the coffee shop next door to our new shop location.

Model Profile: Laura Valentine

Laura Valentine (yes, that's really her middle name) is the newest model here at Red Velvet.

She is a recent newlywed-yay! And works as an admissions counselor at a local college. She loves old movies, her favorite being Charade.

When she's not busy working and being wifey she loves to paint, draw and shop. And her favorite sweet treat is the ever classic Vanilla Coke.

And that's a little bit about Laura Valentine-she is so pretty and we are so happy to have her as a model this season!

Mini Update: Handbags, Purses and Clutches (Oh My!)

New Feature: Model Profile-Sarah Lockhart

You all know Sarah.

She models for Red Velvet pretty regularly. And can you blame us-she is such a beauty! I thought I might start this new feature, Model Profile, so that you all can get to know all the pretty faces behind our dresses. All our models are so cute, on the inside and out.

Was that cheesy? Maybe a little?

Oh, well. I meant it;)

On top of having a fresh and laid-back style, Sarah is about the kindest person you could ever meet. She is currently enrolled at Paul Mitchell Beauty School. She is so so good at styling, cutting and dyeing hair (I had her do mine more blonde just last week!). She is a avid Harry Potter fan (and I mean it people-but hey, everyone should be;). And she loves Sonic Strawberry Limeades with Vanilla Syrup.

She has found true love in Doren (our little brother, and we couldn't be more proud of them!) and this past year she became a mama-bear to our little MONSTER of a niece, Penelope.

Doesn't this face she's making look like a monster? We all just die when she laughs or smiles, or does anything really.
