I've been hoarding this silver tinsel for about a month now and finally decided I was going to put it to use. Imagine my disappointment when my tinsel didn't make it all the way around my wreath. Whenever I get in a crafty fix, I turn to felt. Its easy to work with, comes in pretty colors, and makes projects come together SO much faster than when using fabric.
I cut out a star-shaped flower and then added two more layers of petals to simulate a poinsettia. I used it as the pattern for two more star flowers to cover the empty space.
I added a layer of felt as a backing for the flowers and to cover the empty space from other angles. Once my three flowers were finished, I arranged them until I was satisfied with the set up.
I added three French knots to each flower to secure them and then tied and knotted them to the felt backing that covered the empty space on the wreath. I'll add a small pink ribbon to the top to hang it in my home.
It took about 30 minutes and cost about $3 since every part was a previous thrifted purchase. My hoarding tendencies are serving me well!
