Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Whether you are single, recently met a nice boy or are celebrating years of being in a happy loving marriage-I say we can all agree on one thing... today is a good day to eat a TON of chocolate. Amen.
I made these nutter butter truffles last night. I simply adore the combination of peanut butter and chocolate together. True soul mates.
And, if you are looking to give these as a gift then form them to look like giant Hershey's kisses and wrap them in pink foil.
It's a very Valentines thing to do. :)
To make these: First blend a whole bag of nutter butter cookies. I did this in the food processor and it was a total snap.
In a large bowl combine the cookie crumbs and 1 package of softened cream cheese. Form into balls, or kisses or cubes. Whatever shape says "love" to you. Then stick them in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
In a microwave safe bowl melt 3/4 a packaged of semi-sweet chocolate chips + 1 tablespoon oil until completely melted. I usually melt for 30 seconds, then take it out and stir, melt another 30 seconds... and repeat until it is melted.
Dip the truffles in the chocolate and place on a cookie sheet or cutting board lined with wax paper. If you have holes in your chocolate coating, use a toothpick to fill in those spots. Now stick the truffles back in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour (letting the chocolate set).
Devour or gift wrap. Or both. I found this made around two dozen truffles.

I think I need to have lots of those! If only I was better in the kitchen!

Peanut butter and chocolate - is there any better combination!
My grandmother used to make a similar treat, she called them mice! I should find the recipe and make some of those too. :)
Happy Valentine's day!

YUM! These look sooooo amazingly good. And it doesn't help that I am really hungry right now!
I always read every one of your posts, but I am the worst at leaving comments, whoopsies. Anyway I just found out I'll be in Springfield in the spring and will most definitely be stopping by to eat cupcakes and drink bubble tea. Anyway, I just thought talking a little on here first will make that time even more fun!
And your blog header cracks me up, it suits you perfectly.

I used this exact recipe except my weakness is oreo cookies. I covered them in semi sweet melted bark and then drizzles white chocolate over. My boyfriend loved all the different versions of "truffles" I made.
Truffles are SO easy to make.

I just spotted some premade peanut butter and chocolate cookie dough in Recipease (Jamie Olivers UK shops) and I instantly thought of this post and absolutely had to buy it. I really want to make these little gems but you can't get nutter butters over here :( x

also {to emma}: you may not have nutter butters, but I hear you have something even more incredible called a tim tam. I've never even tried one, but I hear it's the stuff of legend.
